Assemblymember Tina McKinnor recently visited the Lawndale Elementary School District (LESD), spending time with students, staff, and school leaders to learn more about how the District welcomes students and families, responds to their individual needs, and creates supportive environments where every child can learn and thrive.

LESD Community Schools kicked off the new school year by bringing families, district programs, and community partners together for its first-ever Launch Into Learning Fair! Approximately 1000 attendees participated, connecting with free resources and services, including backpacks, school supplies, clothing, shoes, hygiene kits, children’s books, immunizations, vision screenings, and more!

Lawndale Elementary School District in Lawndale, CA, announced that it will continue to serve meals to students under the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs for the 2026 – 2027 school year at no cost.
