Principal's Message

Dear Anderson Families,

I am happy to announce the end of a very successful Trimester 1 here at Anderson Elementary School . Together we have maintained an average of 91% positive attendance in school all while keeping our COVID Close Contact cases at zero. Thank you to our families and community for always ensuring the health and well being of our students as well as making sure your child is at school on time everyday.  We have also made great gains in Math, and Language Arts in our first Trimester of school. Students were recognized at our End of Trimester awards assembly in December. Congratulations to our students and families for receiving recognition and awards in Reading, Math, Most Improved, Citizenship , Attendance and Teacher’s Choice.  We also recognized and celebrated individual students and whole classes for their commitment  to our Dolphin Way and for  being a role model for exceptional behavior at our monthly Dolphin Recognition Assemblies.I hope that you have had an opportunity to join us at one of our awards assembly during our First Trimester. We do continue to celebrate and recognize our students through the year, please be on the lookout for our next awards assembly.

As we head into our winter break I do want to offer our families a couple of reminders. First our winter break begins Monday December 18, 2022 and ends Monday January 2, 2023. Anderson will be open for business and learning on Tuesday January 3, 2023. Secondly, your child has received a COVID 19 Home Testing Kit the week before going on break. Please use this test on Monday evening January 2, 2023 to ensure a safe return to school on Tuesday January 3, 2023. Families are not required to bring in the test results however we do ask that in the unfortunate event that your child tests positive for COVID 19 that you please contact our office so that we may support you with next steps. And finally, our school will be closed on Monday January 16, 2023 in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s Holiday.

We wish everyone a fun, safe and healthy holiday and winter break. Please feel free to reach out to our office with any questions or concerns. (310) 676-0197.

Sincerely,

Amaris Rivas
